Melissa believes that Michael Pollan’s advice to “Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants” is a good start, but that it is just the beginning of learning how to eat. Not all foods or all diets work for all people. Due to our unique biochemistry, what is beneficial for one person may be detrimental to another. Additionally, some people may need to follow a specific diet for a period of time while their underlying condition is being addressed. Melissa works closely with her clients to solve their “nutritional puzzle” and figure out which foods will make them feel their best.
Melissa strongly believes that we need to re-learn how to feed ourselves. She helps clients achieve that goal by teaching them how to plan, shop for, and prepare healthy foods. She specializes in whole foods diets and has experience planning autoimmune, low-FODMAP, allergen-free, gluten-free, diabetic, oncology, athletic, vegetarian/vegan, and substance use recovery diets. Melissa partners with her clients to create customized meal plans to meet their needs.
Melissa strives to achieve the broadest diet possible for her clients. Above all, she believes that eating can and should be a joyful act!
