Jennifer Murphy, RD, LDN, IFNCP

I became interested in a career in nutrition as a way to combine my love of all things food with my desire to help people enjoy good health in the ways that are meaningful to them. I have spent the last decade working with clients to help them achieve their health goals using a whole person approach along with evidenced-based nutrition. The important role of nutrition in health and healing became part of my journey after both of my parents and my husband were diagnosed with cancer. Through the truly amazing healing properties of food, I was able to use my cooking skills and my nutrition knowledge to contribute to the healing process of my family. I then set out to do this for others. As an oncology dietitian I learned that the meaning of food is very personal different for different people. Through my understanding of their beliefs, I was able to empower my clients to view food as a healing aspect of their treatment, an aspect that they could control. Now I use the healing properties of food to help my clients achieve their personal health and nutrition goals. It was through my work as an oncology dietitian that I became interested in the important role of the gut in overall health and wellness and I turned my focus to optimizing health and preventing chronic disease. I obtained my Certification in Integrative and Functional Nutrition in 2018 to continue helping my clients heal from gut related and other core imbalances and optimize wellness. I enjoy being an empathetic and knowledgeable educator, skilled at working with clients of all ages and backgrounds. When not working, you can find me cooking, reading, relaxing at the beach or paddleboarding.
